University of Minnesota Morris

The University of Minnesota in Morris is a student center university for the public. They focus on the liberal arts in their education. They also work to have worldwide recognition and access to state of the art research. The university has a student population of 1,600 and is a very small school. The student to faculty ratio is 13:1 which makes it a lot easier to get help from your professors.
The campus itself really isn't that old and only opened its doors in 1960. The land that the campus was built on once served as a school of agriculture and before that, they were an American Indian Boarding School from 1887 to 1909. Morris is a national leader in green initiatives like wind energy as well as biomass energy. They also work on a sustainable food project. The campus has a goal to be a carbon-neutral campus.

Although the school is relatively small they still have a variety of different majors, minors and licensure areas. They have 34 majors, 35 minors, 13 licensure areas, and nine professional programs in education. Some of the offered majors include anthropology, biology, computer science, history, music, geology, Spanish, physics and more. If none of the degrees seem like something that you would like you can also design your own major.

There are also plenty of student activities to keep you busy. There are 120 student organizations with more than 500 events per year. They also have plenty of intramurals for you to check out. They have choices like flag football, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, basketball, disk golf, basketball and more.
